South Central Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Apply Online for 2801 Act Apprentice Posts
The South Central Railway (SCR) has released the official notification for South Central Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2025-26 for engagement of 2801 Act Apprentices under the Apprentices Act 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules 1962.
Candidates who have passed 10th class with ITI in relevant trades can apply online for apprenticeship training in various railway workshops, divisions and units under SCR.
The online application process started on March 12, 2026 (5:00 PM) and interested candidates can submit their application forms until April 11, 2026 (11:59 PM) through the Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) – South Central Railway portal.

Educational Qualification
Candidates applying for SCR Apprentice Recruitment 2026 must have:
- 10th Class / SSC under 10+2 system with minimum 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board.
- ITI Certificate in relevant trade from an institute recognized by NCVT or SCVT.
The required qualification must be possessed before submitting the online application.
Note: Engineering graduates and diploma holders are not eligible for this apprenticeship notification.

Age will be calculated as on 11 April 2026.

Age Relaxation

- OBC (NCL): 3 Years
- PwBD: 10 Years

Residential Eligibility
Candidates applying for SCR Apprenticeship must belong to districts under the jurisdiction of South Central Railway.

Telangana: All districts
Andhra Pradesh: All districts except Manyam, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram
Maharashtra: Akola, Amaravati, Aurangabad, Beed, Chandrapur, Hingoli, Jalna, Latur, Nanded, Nasik, Parbhani, Washim and Yavatmal
Karnataka: Balki, Bellari, Belgaum, Bidar, Gulbarga (Kalaburgi), Raichur and Yadgir
Tamil Nadu: Vellore district
Madhya Pradesh: Burhanpur and Khandwa districts
Applicants must provide valid residence proof during the document verification process.
Category Certificates
Candidates claiming reservation must produce valid certificates in the prescribed format.
- SC/ST: Central Government caste certificate
- OBC-NCL: Valid caste certificate with non-creamy layer declaration
- EWS: Income and Asset Certificate
- PwBD: Disability certificate showing at least 40% disability
All certificates must be submitted in the prescribed format during document verification.
Selection Process
The selection of candidates for South Central Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2026 will be based purely on merit.
Merit List
- The merit list will be prepared based on average marks obtained in 10th class and ITI.
- Both qualifications will be given equal weightage.
No Written Exam
There will be no written test or interview for this recruitment.
Tie-Breaking Rule
If two candidates obtain the same marks:
- Candidate with higher age will be preferred.
- If age is also the same, the candidate who passed matriculation earlier will be given preference.

Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification, where they must produce original certificates.
Medical Fitness
Candidates must submit a medical fitness certificate issued by a government authorised doctor at the time of verification.
Training & Stipend
Selected candidates will undergo apprenticeship training according to the Central Apprenticeship Council syllabus.
During training, apprentices will receive stipend as per the prescribed government rates.
It is important to note that apprenticeship training does not guarantee a permanent railway job after completion.
