Eligibility Criteria: Who Can Apply?
To be eligible for the MP Police Band Constable position, you must meet specific age and educational requirements as of April 19, 2026.
Age Limit:
Minimum Age: 18 Years
Maximum Age: 33 Years (UR / EWS)
Maximum Age (Reserved): 38 Years (SC/ST/OBC/Home Guards/Govt Employees)

Educational Qualifications:
UR / OBC / EWS: Must have passed 10+2 (Higher Secondary) or equivalent.

Physical Standards (Mandatory)
This recruitment is strictly for male candidates, and there are no relaxations in physical standards at any stage of the process.

Important Note: A minimum of 5 cm chest expansion is mandatory for all applicable categories. Measurements will be strictly conducted on the notified date without exceptions for late reporting.
The 3-Phase Selection Process
The MP Police will select candidates through a rigorous three-tier process to test both musical proficiency and overall aptitude.
Phase I: Skill Test (Screening)
This is a qualifying round. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in one instrument from List “A”. No marks are awarded here, but passing is mandatory to advance.
Phase II: Band Vadana Test (75 Marks)
Trade Test: 60 Marks (Based on your chosen List “A” instrument).
Bonus Marks: Up to 15 Marks (5 marks for each additional instrument known from List “B”).
Qualifying Cut-off: 50% for UR/OBC/EWS and 40% for SC/ST. Top candidates (three times the vacancy count) will move to the final phase.
Phase III: Interview (25 Marks)
The final stage evaluates your trade knowledge, general knowledge, personality, and sports background.
The Final Merit List is calculated out of 100 marks (Phase II + Phase III).
Salary, Pay Scale & Allowances
Selected candidates will be placed on a 3-year probation period, receiving a tiered stipend before unlocking the full pay scale.
Pay Scale: Rs. 19,500 – Rs. 62,000
Year 1 Stipend: 70% of minimum pay
Year 2 Stipend: 80% of minimum pay
Year 3 Stipend: 90% of minimum pay
Perks: Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Travel Allowance (TA), and coverage under the Defined Contribution Pension Scheme.
