Assam Forest Guard Recruitment 2026: The State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB), Assam has released the official notification for Assam Forest Guard Recruitment 2026 along with multiple other posts under a single multi-post recruitment drive. A total of 2,972 vacancies have been announced for posts including Forester Grade-I, Forest Guard, Game Watcher, AFPF Constable, various Constable posts, Fireman, Emergency Rescuer, Boatman, Bandman, Bugler, and Sub-Officer.
Eligible candidates can apply online only through the official website www.slprbassam.in from 22 January 2026 to 22 February 2026. The recruitment process will include PET, PST, written examination, walking test, viva voce, and skill tests, depending on the post.

Educational Qualification (Post-wise)

- Forest Guard, Game Watcher & Constable (UB): H.S. (10+2)
- AFPF Constable, Constable (Grade-III), Bandman & Bugler: HSLC (Class 10)
- Boatman: HSLC + Swimming proficiency
Additional requirements apply for Bandman (musical instruments) and Bugler, while Boatman candidates may get preference for boating, sports, or Home Guard experience.

Salary Structure
- Forester Grade-I: ₹14,000–70,000 + GP ₹6,400
- Forest Guard / Constable / AFPF / Bandman: GP ₹5,600
- Constable (WO/WT) & Sub-Officer: GP ₹6,200
- Fireman & Emergency Rescuer: GP ₹5,000
- Bugler: GP ₹4,400
- Boatman: ₹12,000–52,000 + GP ₹4,200
All salaries are as per Assam Government rules with applicable allowances.
Selection Process
The recruitment process includes multiple stages depending on the post:
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Physical Standard Test (PST)
- Written Examination
- Walking Test (Forester/Forest Guard/Game Watcher only)
- Oral / Viva Voce
- Skill Tests (Swimming, Boating, or Trade Proficiency where applicable)
Written Test Pattern
- Forester Grade-I: 100 marks with negative marking
- Other Posts: 50 marks, no negative marking
- Question papers available in Assamese, Bodo, Bengali, and English
Physical & Medical Standards
Candidates must meet prescribed height, chest, eyesight, and medical fitness standards. Conditions like heart disease, hernia, flat foot, color blindness, or severe deformities will lead to disqualification.
